Getting Started
What is Sunday Strike?
Sunday Strike monitors golf courses for tee time openings and either alerts you the moment one becomes available, or books it for you automatically, so you never miss a slot because you weren't watching.
What courses are supported?
We currently support JC Golf courses, including Encinitas Ranch. More courses are on the way. If there's a specific course you'd like added, suggest it here.
How far in advance can I book?
The booking window depends on the course. Encinitas Ranch typically opens slots seven days out. Sunday Strike starts scanning as soon as a date is within the booking window, so you'll never miss the moment it opens.
Can I set multiple bounties at once?
Yes. You can have multiple active bounties across different dates, times, and player counts. Each one runs independently.
Alerts
What is Alert Only?
Alert Only means we notify you by SMS and email the moment a matching tee time opens up, and leave the booking to you. You'll need to act fast, especially at popular courses.
How will I be notified?
We send an SMS and an email the moment a match is found or a booking is made. Make sure your phone number is set in Settings and notifications are enabled.
Auto-Book
What is Auto-Book?
Auto-Book reserves the tee time for you the instant it becomes available, day or night, with no action needed on your end. It's the only reliable way to secure highly competitive slots that disappear in seconds.
How do I connect my booking account?
Go to Settings and enter the email and password you use to book tee times on the course's website. Sunday Strike will verify the login automatically. You'll need to have a credit card saved on the course's site before enabling auto-book.
Why do I need a credit card on file at the course?
When auto-book fires, it completes the reservation using the payment method you already have saved with the course. Sunday Strike never stores or handles your card. Payment goes directly through the course's system.
What if auto-book fires and I can't make it?
You'll be notified immediately by SMS and email. Whether you can cancel depends on the course's cancellation policy. Some allow cancellations up to 24 hours before, others do not. We recommend reviewing the policy for your course before enabling auto-book.
Is my credit card stored by Sunday Strike?
No. Your card is stored with the course, not with us. Sunday Strike only stores your booking account credentials (email and password) to complete the reservation on your behalf.
Are my credentials stored securely?
Yes. Your booking password is encrypted at rest and never stored in plain text. It is only decrypted in memory at the moment a booking attempt is made.
Tee Time Booking
Why do popular tee times sell out so fast?
At busy public courses, tee times are released on a fixed schedule, often 7 days in advance, and a large pool of golfers is competing for the same slots. Prime morning times on weekends can be gone within minutes of opening, especially at well-known or affordable courses.
What is a tee time booking window?
The booking window is how far in advance a course allows reservations. Most public courses open their calendar 7 days out. Some private or municipal courses use different windows, ranging from 2 days to 90 days depending on membership status and course policy.
When do tee times typically go on sale?
Most courses release tee times at a set time on the day the booking window opens, commonly between 5:00 AM and 7:00 AM local time. The exact time varies by course. Being ready to book at that moment is the difference between getting a prime slot and settling for whatever is left.
What is the best time to book a tee time?
The moment the booking window opens. For a course with a 7-day window, that means booking exactly 7 days before your desired date, at whatever time the course releases slots. Waiting even a few hours can mean losing out on weekend morning times at popular courses.
Why do tee times sometimes appear and then disappear?
Courses occasionally release cancelled or held slots back into the system throughout the day. These openings are often brief, appearing and disappearing within minutes as other golfers snap them up. This is why monitoring tools that check continuously are more effective than manually refreshing.
Can I get notified when a tee time opens up?
Yes, with Sunday Strike. Set a bounty for the date, time range, and player count you want, and we monitor the course continuously. The moment a matching slot appears, we send you an SMS and email alert, or book it for you automatically.
What happens if I miss the booking window?
You can still get a tee time. Cancellations happen regularly — golfers change plans and release their slots back into the system. Monitoring for openings in the days leading up to your target date is often how the best slots get filled a second time.
What is a golf course waitlist?
Some courses offer an official waitlist for fully booked dates. Others don't — in which case your only option is to keep checking for cancellations. Sunday Strike automates that process, checking every 60 seconds so you don't have to.
